Press Release: Souser and Kavookjian tie at 2009 Loafer Race
The annual Liebowitz Day "5k" fun run loafer race was a great success this year, with Bill Souser and Haik Kavookjian tieing for first place. Noah Feder made a suprising come back from last place after Mike West lost his loafer only yards from the finish line. Forced to retreive his loafer, Feder managed to come in third ahead of West, who hopped past the finish line with a dangling loafer on his foot.

The runners start out even as on lookers cheer "Liebowitz! Yay! Go Liebowitz!" Despite the fact that he was unable to attend this years event.

West makes a break for the finish line as commentator Elizabeth Herron-Sweet works the crowd into a frenzy.

West crosses the finish line without realizing that he lost his loafer, nearly disqualifying him. Going back to retreive the lost loafer cost him 3rd place.

Feder nearly passes out from exaustion after his spictacular come back.

"We owe it all to Liebowitz," said Souser, "Without his wind at my back, I'd be nothing but a history major. But with his help, I'm a history major with a minor in winning."
